What's goin' on

Well, I've been busy with a new site that some folks would say are for the conspiracy driven nut-cases.  These folks are just average people who are concerned (like many of us) that the GOP has gone "Liberal Lite".  I'm talking about Resistnet.com - a networking site for those who plan to resist the socialist agendae of the incoming Obama administration.

There is a large number of folks on this site that have produced a large amount of evidence that Obama is not qualified to become the next president because of his citizenship status.  As some of you may remember that I once posted here that he wasn't qualified because of his citizenship status (his parents were not both US citizens, and his mother gave birth to him at an age that would disqualify him).  This proved to be a wishful thought that someone had tried to get out there as proof of ineligibility (if he was born in Hawaii - it was a state at that time, and the citizenship status of the parents do not matter. Which is how illegal alien mothers are able to have children that are citizens.)  There are a number of other factors that haven't been cleared up in the matter - long form birth certificate vs. certificate of live birth.  I urge folks to check out this information for their own self.

I hope all of you had a great Christmas and will have a safe New Year's.

Sneakin' that bailout by us & What I'm doing about it

Funny how the WH hasn't announced any kind of a bailout for the Big 3 yet this whole week.  I think that most of the rats in Washington are programmed to put any kind of unpopular, costly, or just plain stupid deals, plans and announcements off until late Friday afternoon.  That way the radio talkshow circuit can't get their teeth into it until it's been parsed and sold on the Sunday morning political talkshows.  So watch out for the announcement on Friday that Bush worked it out to give Detroit an early Christmas present without making the UAW give in.  Folks, I'm telling you that Bush and the rest of the folks in Das Capital have sold us down the river.
Why is it that we aren't getting our voices heard?  Because we don't write the big checks made out to your congressman, senator, or party.  Our government is just as for sale as an Illinois senate seat.  And don't think that the rest of the world doesn't know that.  There are hundreds of foreign interests working in the hallways of Capitol Hill.  Dubai has Bubba Clinton in their back pocket.  My congressman has a more than favorable rating from groups that support Iran.  IRAN!  So maybe if one of you Mega Millions lotto winners want to maybe slide a few thousand my way, we could buy a congressman or senator to speak up.

All kidding aside, that is just the reason why I want to put some friends together to help me run for congress.  Soon I hope to get some further advice and support from those who are already in congress or have previously served.  My goal is to be able to challenge for the seat in 2010.  If you've been reading here, you know how I feel on many subjects and I think that there are enough folks out there who believe like I do that the GOP has gone off track.

We need true conservative ideas and values brought back to Washington.  America needs to create the opportunities to get ahead without government getting in the way.  The previous generation sat by and let our nation get too dependent on foreign oil, too dependent on foreign workers (legal and illegal) to do the jobs we thought are beneath us, too dependent on somebody else to take care of the tough jobs, and too dependent on government handouts.  Our country needs to be weaned off the teats of big government.  America is a choice land, and I cannot stay on the sidelines while good intentioned people - with bad ideas ruin it.

The Chicago Way

I told you, I told you, I told you!  The political machine in Chicago and Illinois is rife with corruption and slimeballs.  Your homework should be to read (or re-read) David Freddoso's book "The Case Against Barack Obama".  You will read about the slimeballs who inhabit Chicago's City Hall, the State Capitol, and the now infamous gov. Blagojevich.  The system is greased with kickbacks, greed, ineptitude, and nepotism.  If you have doubts about how "Mr. Empty Suit" is connected to all this - you better go back and read this book.  No, I'm not getting a dime from the author or publisher.  I found this book to be a very educational book about the kind of people Obama learned from, associated with, and politically supported.  The governor is indignant about all this and still refuses to even acknowledge he did anything wrong.  What's more, his wife - who is almost as dirty as he is - hasn't said a word either.
One can only hope that justice will be served and no shennanigans will occur.  Remember the line from the movie "The Untouchables" where Sean Connery says: "You wanna know how to get (Blagojevich)?  They pull a knife, you pull a gun.  He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. THAT'S the Chicago way."  I just hope that the Prosecutor does.

Bailout or Bankruptcy

It seems that our President is still drinking from that "Liberals Only" water fountain again.  I think he's just lost his marbles!  So he's thinking about giving the automakers money from the TARP fund - illegally - to help tide them over 'til Mr. Obama can come in and nationalize them.  Never mind the fact that the vast majority of THE PEOPLE don't want to do this.  This once again proves to me that once a person gets to Das Capital they completely forget the REAL reason why they are there - TO SERVE AND REPRESENT THE PEOPLE.

I recently read an opinion piece from Investor's Business Daily and here's a bit of what was said: The bailout was killed in the Senate by the Republican block largely because the United Auto Workers (UAW) didn't want to give any further concessions.  However, "gold plated union contracts are a big reason for U.S. automakers woes (though managerial incompetence at the Big 3 also played a role).  The average Big 3 worker made $73.26 an hour in 2006; an average worker in a foreign transplant (Toyota, Honda, Volkswagon, etc. in the U.S.), $44.20."  Graphs posted online shows just what this means for these companies' bottom line.  In 2007, Toyota made nearly the same number of vehicles as GM (over 9 million).  Toyota made almost $39 Billion, or over $1800 per car.  Interestingly, GM LOST $39 Billion or over $4000 per car during the same period.

Where did all that money go?  It paid for retirement funds for pensions and healthcare.  It paid for workers' salaries whether or not they were actually working in the plant or laid off.  It paid for corporate jets, and all the other perks for the executives.  It paid for the union leaders salaries, and all the bureaucrats within the union.  It even trickled down into large campaign donations to the Democratic Party's warchest.

The op-ed piece continues on what bankruptcy would mean to the Big 3.
"We don't want to see workers suffer or the auto industry disappear.  But the fact is, under bankruptcy reorganization, they won't.  The workers will still exist, as will their skills.  Unprofitable plants that can't be turned around will close.  A bankruptcy judge will sell unprofitable assets to those who can use them productively.  We won't need a "car czar", or congressional oversight, or political micromanagement.  And out of this process, a slimmer, more competitive and, yes, even profitable Big 3 can emerge if we let it - one that will be able to compete with foreign companies on our own soil."  I couldn't agree more.

We don't need more government intervention.  Let the market run its course.  Suppliers will get paid, investors will get some of their money as well.  So what if they go bankrupt?  It would teach the automakers a lesson in economics.  It would also teach the union to not get too greedy.  The union can be a good thing, but they've got to be responsible and remember they are stakeholders in the companies' survival.  Just because you want the sun and stars doesn't mean you can get the moon too.

This is why we need Conservatives in power

I am writing this to all my friends out there who live in the O.S.S.A. (Obama Socialist States of America) who are looking for the "HOPE" that was promised this past year by the "Dear Leader" Obama.  WAKE UP!!!

I hope that Gov. Rick Perry and the rest of the great minds we have running the State of Texas choose to exercise our right as Texans (its in our state's constitution - look it up) and secede from the O.S.S.A. and become the Republic of Texas once again.  It will be the only way we can survive without being dragged down by the Socialists' mess they're creating up there in the rest of the once great nation formerly known as the U.S.A.  I write this because I see that Gov. Perry is one of only a small handfull of leaders who aren't lining up on Capitol Hill with their hands out begging for money.

It makes me sick to see these idiots (and I do mean IDIOTS) come out and expect that I and everyone else should pay for their stupidity.  First we had banks begging for money to save them.  Then we "saved" AIG Insurance.  Then we doled out hundreds of billions more to save more banks and lenders.  Then we have automakers flying in Gulfstream jets down to DC (Das Capital - Karl Marx) to "belly up to the bar" to get a taste of that bailout bonanza going on.  Now the "governator" wants to rush to DC to grab what he can along with 40+ other governors for "THEIR FAILED ECONOMIC POLICIES" (sound familiar?).

I want everyone to hear from a REAL Governor (note the big G).  This is a link from Governor Perry on where he stands on this mess.  In this site there is a story from the Wall Street Journal that you should also read.  Here is why we need good CONSERVATIVE leaders in every part of government during these times of economic turmoil.

The Federal Government is no longer the "nutty ol' uncle" we used to tolerate on holidays and April 15th.  No, Uncle Sam has gone stark raving mad and is a danger to you, me and the rest of the country.  Uncle Sam cannot afford to give money to every state, to the Big 3 automakers, the financial industry, and the guy with the film of illegal cat juggling in Mexico (see the movie The Jerk).

The next "bubble" facing the U.S. (really the world) is the money bubble.  Where will all this money come from?  There is no money!!  Credit won't happen if you can't pay it back.  Remember going to the bank to get a loan, and the first thing out of the banker's mouth was, "Do you have any collateral?"  Well we don't have that kind of collateral unless.... you give away your country.  The federal government is BANKRUPTING not only our future, but the SOVREIGNTY of our nation.  We are slowly becoming "less sovereign" by taking money from FOREIGN NATIONS that do not hold the same values we do.  Communist China, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and other non-freedom loving nations hold loans to the U.S. government.  If we default on these loans what do you think will happen?  Are we any safer now than we were 4 years ago?  How about 16 years ago?  We as a "nation" are going to have to pay up someday right?

In the News

Well, we've got our first big crisis under our belt since B.O. was elected, and he hasn't mucked this one up.  Then again, they've done a great job of hiding Joe "the VP" Biden.  He's almost as absent as Cheney.  (Maybe they're sharing the secret underground lair that Bush had built for Cheney right after 9/11?) That mess in India was a nice little wake up call to our nieve young POTUS-elect.  We'll have to see how things shake out with this terrorist being a Pakistani.  Who knows, we may invade Pakistan yet.

Then there's the 8 yr. old who shot his dad and another guy.  WTF?! Maybe the parents didn't teach him what they taught that kid in "A Christmas Story" who wanted the BB gun...."You're gonna put out someone's eye with that!"  That is what is missing more and more these days. Good ol' common sense.  I mean, I'm not against giving a kid a gun, but you have to be responsible enough to teach them safety and proper use (like only use it at the range or when hunting - otherwise it stays locked up).  Now unless I'm mistaken (and I've been known to make a few), the dad spanked the boy before.  It either wasn't hard enough to put the fear of "god" into him or it was way over the limit.  I think the dad didn't do the pre and post talk with the boy.  "This is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you."..then "What you did was wrong, but I still love you and you need to know that punishments come with breaking the rules."

What do y'all think?

If You Want Proof...

Texas is the world's 12th largest economy (if it were a nation...technically we are if we really wanted to be).  And I don't want to sound like I'm tooting our horn (Gabriel's horn...if you know the song "The Eyes of Texas are Upon You") but... TOOT!! TOOT!!  A recent article (found here: Texas In Great Economic Shape ) talks about how great we are doing - despite the Socialist government running the country.  Yes, I know G.W. Bush is still our President - and we here in Texas are proud of him - but I feel that he's gotten lost among the Liberals back East.

The reason we're doing so well, HMMM.....
   1) No State income tax.
   2) Low taxes for businesses.
   3) Good Conservative budget management.
   4) The housing bubble didn't hit us as hard.
   5) Our State government has close reins on spending.

You'd think that with such a tight fisted budget, our roads would be a mess and the schools would be horrible.  But you would be WRONG!
- Our roads are some of the best in the country.  Ask any trucker.  The road signs are all pretty new, and plentiful.
- Our schools are some of the best in the nation.  AND every child that graduates from high school in Texas is guaranteed acceptance to any of our State colleges (UT-Austin, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, etc.).
- Further, if you join the military from Texas, you get free tuition to any of the State colleges.

So why is it that folks around the country can't figure out that we need solid Conservative economic and social policies?  They haven't been told the truth.  To all my friends in states like "Cahleeforniah", Ohio, Missouri, and Michigan... your "eyes" should be "upon" Texas.

By the way, TWO of the best college football teams are right here in Texas.  Texas Tech (GO RAIDERS!) and UT-Austin.  AND the two top candidates for the Heisman Trophy are here as well.  Its great to be in Texas!

Values and the GIMME Culture

I was thinking as I was listening to a re-broadcast of Hannity early this morning on Sirius (I swear it was the best thing I ever did - getting satellite radio in my van).  Hannity was going on his rant about how he worked hard all his life from the age of 12, and how we as a nation have lost the value of working hard to get ahead.  Its all about getting things - and expecting them as cheaply (if not free) as possible.  We have become a nation of spoiled brats...all screaming "GIMME, GIMME, GIMME!!"  And when things don't go our way - we go berzerk.  We sue each other, we sue the big bad companies that didn't give us what we feel we are entitled to, and we want our government to take care of us and give us even more.

How we got this way is a long lesson in history, and I don't want to write a 15 page essay (and I know you don't want to read my "wonkish" theory on this).  Let's just say that we evolved into these greedy, spoiled, selfish brats that we are today because of our government.  So here we are at the dawn of a new century and many people out there have this idiotic idea that they are ENTITLED to things that would be unheard of just 20 years ago.  And when folks think the Republican party is for old people - they are on to something.  Those of us who remember  Reagan, Nixon and the ideals of hard work, enterprise, and freedom are OLD.  We are becoming outdated.  But the thing is we have to go back to these ideals if we want to continue to be successful.  Conservatives (NOT RINO's) have to work to educate our society about the value of work and success.  We have to demonstrate to our children and their friends that I-Pods don't just magically appear when they want one.

I posted earlier that I thought that "Stupid Gas" was being pumped into the atmosphere over America.  Well, it is...and the only way to protect ourselves is to educate people about these values and ethics.  Get together with a neighbor and have them hire your kid to cut the grass or babysit for a night or 2 - or hire their kid to do the same.  Talk with your teenagers about work, and if possible have them spend some time with somebody in that field.  If you can, talk with high school counselors about talking to students about your jobs.  (I've done it before, and it didn't kill me.)  Little things like this add up and do make a difference.

The GOP has a website up asking people to post why they are republicans, and how we should see ourselves in the 21st Century.  It shouldn't have changed.  We should always stand up for free enterprise and personal liberty.  We should see ourselves as the ones who value personal responsibility and accountability.  These values, and the defense of these freedoms are the keys to our nation's survival

THEREFORE ALL AMERICANS HAVE A STAKE IN HOW WE ARE GOVERNED - AND MUST NOT STAND ON THE SIDELINES IN IGNORANCE OF THE ISSUES BEFORE US.

I ask all of you who read this to take a moment to thank God for what we have in the coming week and then take another moment to talk with your children, a co-worker, a neighbor, or even someone you overheard talking about how great Obama will be and tell them why you are a conservative.

Detroit Demolition

Fans of the J. Geils Band may remember the title of this post from one of their early hits.  (If you guess the title of the hit, you win ... my undying gratitude -- HA!)  But the sad reality is that Detroit is about to undergo a complete demolition.  If you've read me before you know I'm a "Detroiter in Exile".  I'm one of thousands who have left the Motor City and has never returned because of the poor economy there, the lack of true leadership there, and the weather there SUCKS!  I may not have a hard time finding a job there (fortunately, nursing is one of a few careers that will always be in demand), but I probably wouldn't be making what I currently make here in Texas.

The point of today's post is this....Washington almost had it right - and (dare I say it?!) Michael Moore almost had it right when they came out against the CEO's of the "Big 3".  I got a "tingle up my leg" when (shockingly) the Democratic Rep. from CA Brad Sherman asked Mulally, Wagoner, and Nardelli if they flew commercial to come testify before Congress.  These characters all thought that they would actually be able to cash in on the spending frenzy going on there.  As Nelson from "The Simpsons" would say - "HAAAHaaa!"

The sad thing about the Big 3 CEO's getting sent home in their GulfStream jets without a big fat check in their pocket was that it was these same Democratic Congressmen who were bought and paid for by the UAW and then regulated them into this position.  So it was no suprise to see Mr. Gettelfinger (the current head of the UAW) sitting there next to these clowns to remind the Congressional panel that if they don't want to lose campaign money - er, votes for re-election they better not make the union pay up.  But that is exactly what should happen!

The union in tandem with the liberal environmental extremists were the primary cause of the Big 3's demise.  The UAW has held a gun to the heads of the Big 3 ever since the 60's - getting insane salaries, pensions and LIFETIME benefits for its members.  Regulations from the enviromental lobby has forced the automakers to spend money on developing technology that isn't even available.  Then throw in the bad economic policies that Democratic governors Jennifer Granholm (MI), Rod Blagojevich (IL), Ted Strickland (OH), Ed Rendell (PA), Joe Manchin, III (WV) - all from key states that have interest in the auto industry (steel, coal, and factories) - have instituted in their states that tax businesses into submission.  All this - in a time when energy prices (not just gasoline) were skyrocketing - added up to become a "perfect storm for economic disaster" for automakers.

What needs to happen is some good ol' fashioned "Free Market Correction".  Basically, the Big 3 are going to have to eat a "doo-doo sandwich" (bankruptcy) and then start over again.  The UAW will be forced to re-negotiate their contracts with the auto industry (its not just Ford, GM, and Chrysler - but their suppliers who are unionized too) and have their own "doo-doo sandwich" when they realize that the honey pot that was once there is now full of doo-doo.  This doo-doo (hopefully) will bubble up to the congressmen who depend on the campaign money - er, votes of the union members - to keep them in power.

So let's all just sit down and have a heapin' helpin' of doo-doo sandwiches!!

O'Reilly is right on the money...40 years too late.

I see that Mr. "Bold Fresh" is doing a piece tonight on San Francisco.  The tag line is, "Is the sex, drugs and anything goes attitude to blame for San Francisco's liberal ideas?"  (or something close to it)  Way to go O'Reilly, you're only 42 years too late figuring that out!  That city hasn't been the same since the hippies started taking it over before the "Summer of Love".  Think about it... they are responsible for the most liberal ideals outside of Greenwich Village, New York.  You've got Denis Leary ("tune in, turn on, drop out"), the gay movement, women's lib movement, Berkeley (Univ. of California), anti-nukes, anti-war, anti-globalization, Church of Satan, Greenpeace, legalization of pot, human trafficking for sex slaves, Code Pink, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco, etc. etc.  It's a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah!  I'm suprised it hasn't been destroyed by a pillar of fire!  C'mon O'Reilly, we already know how screwed up San Francisco and the entire Bay Area is.  What are you going to do for an encore?  An expose on the plot to kidnap Greta Van Sustern by the Palins to force her to do a 6 week long interview?  What about a real investigation?  How about "Barack Obama's birth certificate is fake" or "Illegal foreign money pumped into the Obama campaign fund"?  I personally don't give a crap about William Ayers anymore, or Sarah Palin.  What happened to all the shady voter fraud deals with ACORN and other groups?  HUH!?!

Listening to the Crickets Chirping

Ok... so I must be spinning my wheels. The silence is deafening, and the crickets are chirping.  I will stick to my ranting and raving.

Have you noticed that Greta Van Sustern must have gotten stuck in Alaska or was captured and held against her will by the Palins?  I swear that she has been "interviewing" Sarah Palin and her entire family for the last 6 weeks.  I'm waiting on Greta's exclusive to get the first words that baby Trig will say on "On the Record".  Greta!  Do you need a plane ticket?!  How about we send a dog sled team out to rescue you?!  Did you interview Piper's teachers yet?!  Are there any Eskimos you haven't talked to yet?!

How about Bush these days?  Did I hear him say that he's a "Free Market Guy"?  Yeah, right and I'm Bill Ayers.  Has he been drinking from the wrong Congressional fountains again?  I can't believe that he is trying to get more bailouts for anyone who comes knockin' on the Oval Office's door.  You remember the scene in the movie "The Jerk" with Steve Martin?  He's sitting in his office and going through the mail handing out money, and an obvious crook comes in to ask for money to stop cat juggling in Mexico.  He shows Steve Martin this film with the "graphic" scenes of this horror.  "This has got to be stopped!  How much do you need?!"  So he signs a check for a million dollars to the crook.  I swear that Bush has turned into "The Jerk".  As long as he doesn't start drinking again and try to walk off with the White House ashtrays, chairs, and soapdishes - we'll be fine.
About the auto companies being bailed out.  Here is MY plan.  MAKE THE UAW pay back the money that they weaseled out of Ford, GM, and Chrysler.  If they know what's good for them, they'd do it.  Because if the union won't chip in to help out the company, then there won't be anyone to represent.  You can't get union dues from unemployment checks!  Unless the UAW changes its name to the UNEMPLOYED Auto Workers.  I'm a Detroiter in exile.  I grew up there and I know the people there.  They want to work, and they are generally proud of what they do.  If the auto companies go bankrupt, it will be one of the last nails in the coffin for the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan.  But, I think that just handing out money to the companies is not the right thing to do.  Give them a loan (like Lee Iacocca got for Chrysler) and make them pay it with interest.  But the other string attached should be to streamline their operations.  Narrow down the product lines to a couple cars, a couple trucks, and a couple vans.  Start from the basics and focus on what works.  They also should work to cut back on all the benefits that the UAW has forced down their throats.  We used to call GM "Generous Motors" because if you were lucky enough to get in there - you were set for life.  Healthcare, pension, and crazy high wages.  There were guys I know that would go and sleep on their forklift for 8-10 hours and get paid $30 an hour.  This is unsatisfactory and the union should not get in the way of letting slugs like these go.

I was watching the extra features on "Kung Fu Panda" the other night.  What a bunch of selfish, self-righteous pricks!  Dustin Hoffman was on there saying he wouldn't do the movie if he couldn't be an "extremely endangered panda".  Then Angelina Jolie simply "had to be the Tiger" or else.  I hope nobody shows these interviews to their kids without some sort of preface like - "This is how a selfish elitist behaves, and if you grow up to be one - I'm throwing you out of the house."

Does anyone really care about anything anymore?  I am beginning to think that a secret lab somewhere has been pumping "Stupid Gas" into the atmosphere over the U.S.  Kids around here just walk in front of traffic and look at you funny when you slam on your brakes and pound the steering wheel while you glare at them in disgust.  People are more concerned with idiotic television shows, their I-Pods, and getting silly ringtones for their Blackberry than with what is going on around them.  Would I be justified if I slapped the next dufus walking around with their head in the clouds talking on their Bluetooth?  Need I say more?

The Underground Conservative Movement

There are just about as many bitter conservatives out there now that "That One" has been elected as there were when "W" took over in 2000 and again in 2004.  I've said it before here but it is definately a leftist PAYBACK for the perceived stolen elections.  The deck was stacked, the fix was in...whatever you want to call it - the left (with the liberal minded media in the tank, and the $700 million in campaign money) was not about to let this election get stolen again.  So now we conservatives are faced with some tough choices.  We can be bitter and hate the new administration just as much as those leftist looneys we heard for the past 8 years (think Code Pink, Daily Kos, and Hollywood).  We can take the high road and concede that we were out-matched by a charismatic guy and we just didn't have the right candidate.

OR we can start to work together.  There are so many different conservative groups, blogs, commentators, and a few good politicians left out there that all are chattering and working against each other.  Some say we should NEVER support Obama as president - even going as far as saying that he is "not my president".  Others are somewhat more practical by saying that Obama may be the president, but I don't agree with his policies and will expose them as the Socialist ideals that they are.  Whatever your views, we know the Conservative Movement is not dead.  I tend to agree with some of the polls that were done last year by Newt Gingrich's organization American Solutions that show that the vast majority of people in America are in favor of many of the Conservative tenets.  We like references to God in public forums, and by government.  We want to keep our country safe and free from terrorists.  We want to curb illegal immigration.  We believe in getting fair compensation for the work we do, and not be forced to share it with those who don't.  We like the idea of making English the national language and requiring new immigrants to learn it and learn our history/culture.

So what I'm getting at is this... we all believe in many of the same common values.  Let us work together and fight to keep our freedoms.  Let us work together to stop the socialist/liberal agenda from getting a foothold in this country.  Remember what we truly believe in and want for ourselves, our neighbors, our towns, and our country.  If you are interested in organizing together drop me an email.  I would like to work with anyone who thinks that by being that "thorn in the side" of our leaders will remind them who they work for.  I want to see if we can pool our resources and organize an Underground Conservative Movement that will be able to put pressure on the new administration and Congress.  I want to grow leaders in this movement that we can get elected.  If all I'm doing here is spinning my wheels - then let me know.  But I feel that there are enough people out there who think that we can make a difference and get our country back from the socialists that are slowly taking over.

Obama...the next Reagan? WTF!?!

I just got done reading an article from this complete idiot on MSN's Money page.  I don't normally read the financial advice pages, but the headline caught my eye.  If you haven't seen it yet - check it out - it is "Why Obama is the next Reagan".  I just about had blood shooting out of my eyes!  The idiot in question is a so-called expert named Jon Markman.  The article is found at the following link.

Here's some of what this guy wrote (Warning: Not suitable for Conservatives, Reagan Democrats, and those that know a thing or two about anything):

Investors worldwide have prepared for a new chief executive of the most important country on Earth for months by shedding assets and shivering with dread -- and on Tuesday they got their manThe new boss of the U.S. Treasury, Federal Reserve, armed forces and dollar, the new director of global trade flows, the new captain of the capitalist system, will be a 47-year-old attorney who grew up about as far from the dark center of power as can be imagined -- in sun-baked Honolulu.

Barack Obama now stands in broad daylight, where skeptical investors in Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing and London can assess the real man instead of the political animal running for election.  I think they will find his intelligence, his oratory, his dedication to public service, his ease at gathering smart advisers, his ability to inspire confidence and his tight management of a brilliant political campaign are all the real deal. As a result, despite his incredibly thin résumé, investors will come to believe he is ready to take on this august job.

Did this guy just fall off the turnip wagon?  "Smart advisers"?!?!  Weren't his 2 leading economic advisers the guys that drove Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into the ground?  "The new captain of the capitalist system"?  Are you kidding me?  Mr. "Spread the wealth around"?  The same guy who lamented the fact that the judicial system wasn't able to dole out economic justice during the 50's and 60's civil rights movement?  I'm not that confident - are you?!?

Wait it gets better...
It's a mess, to be sure, and in many ways, the next two months may represent the apex of the world's hopes for Obama's success at setting everything straight. The next half-dozen U.S. economic problems that arise will be attributed to his predecessor, after all.

Oh really?  I thought it just might be the fact that there was a liberal congress that rammed so much crap through that President Bush had no choice despite his vetoes.

But the next dozen after that will be laid at his feet. The way he and his team deal with them will determine our success as investors and citizens over the next four to eight years, and the shape of the world in which my children, now 13 and 16, will emerge as adults.

Obama faces a domestic economy ravaged by falling home prices, rising unemployment and thinning industrial production. He faces a banking system savaged by epic greed. He faces a public that's more cynical than ever about its leaders. And he faces two wars.

Right... these are the possible "world crises" that Joe Biden warned us about.  Ooooh, scary!  Here comes Mr. Markman's sage advice for those of you who might want to invest....

It's almost impossible to say with certainty how Obama will govern as these difficulties arise, for there is nothing in his background that will help us judge. We can only pray that he approaches issues in a holistic way -- not reactively but with a grand plan into which each fresh nuance is thoughtfully fit -- much as he conquered the intricacies of the long presidential race.

I don't know about you... but I'd want a financial guru to give me better advice than to "Hope and Pray" that things will be okay.  I would rather have someone that has a handle on what is going on and give sound advice.

There is a link buried in the column on the right side that allows you to email your comments on this column to the folks at MSN.  If you can't find it, the email address is: investor@microsoft.com  I urge all of you who remember Ronald Reagan, admired him, or even heard about him to email these clowns and tell them that they need to either fire Jon Markman or take off their blinders and see the world through eyes that aren't blinded by devotion to liberal ideologies.

Dear Leader Obama and Hope (just not what he thinks it is)

So America voted, and they (the sheep) have voted for "Change and Hope".  Yeah...whatever!  I am now officially starting the "It's NOT My Fault...You Voted for Change" campaign.  For all my dedicated conservatives out there (all 3 or 4 of ya)  I have a few words that I saved from Glenn Beck about "hope".  He was talking about the financial mess...but I think these words will still ring true today as well.  Here's what Glenn had to say....

"Hey, just remember one thing. Just remember who we are. Just remember what our rock is. Just remember it's life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We're going to make it through anything as long as we stay together and we don't stay together on stupid things. You know, marriages never work that are just built on a sham where you...seven years into it, you went, 'what the hell did I marry this person for?'  Know why we married into this system. We married capitalism because it is the first system that really truly freed people. We married into life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We married our Constitution, and that's an eternal kind of marriage. Just refresh yourself this week(end), I want you to know. Because when we know who we are, when we know who gives us the power, when we know that there are good people around us that believe the same thing, when we educate ourselves, we can survive anything. It's going to get rough but we're going to survive anything because that's who Americans really are, survivors."

I think I couldn't have said it much better than that.  We are "married" to our beliefs and ideals.  Don't give up hope for a better country!

I will be talking with the GOP folks here in El Paso to see what I can do to possibly put together a run for Congress in 2010 against the unopposed Dem Sylvestre Reyes.  I did some checking on him and where he stands on many issues and who supports him.  Let me tell you...it ain't pretty.  More to come on this and what develops in the future.  For now, let's just lick our wounds and get ready for a rough year ahead and then we conservatives can begin working on repairing the damage that will have been done.

LET'S GET READY TO FIGHT AND TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY FROM THE SOCIALIST RADICALS.

WOLVERINES!!!

24 hours and counting

In some ways I'll be glad when this election is over and in the history books.  This campaign has been the most involved many of us have ever been.  It seems that with all the talk and hype over Obama and Hillary, that the GOP became the forgotten party.  And I think that is a pretty good assessment of the Republican party.  Conservatives have forgotten ourselves, and our values.  G.W. Bush was a great leader in a time of trial, but Conservatives in both houses must have sipped from the wrong water fountains on Capitol Hill.  Many got a whopping dose of "stupid" (could have been Michael Jackson's "Jesus juice") and spent OUR money like a drunken sailor on shore leave (my apologies to my drunken sailor friends for comparing you to a politician).  But that still doesn't mean that the Conservative movement is dead.  There are a handful of responsible minded Republican candidates out there that need our support.  These folks are "Palinesque" in their approach to government spending and waste.  Like Newt Gingrich and Glenn Beck have said - "Seek these people out and support them!"

There are many worries that many of you share with me about what will happen on Tuesday.  My biggest one is voter fraud.  I have written about this over the summer, and added other comments elsewhere.  There are so many organizations that are out there trying to register people to vote that it is very likely that 33% percent of the votes accross America will be tainted.  I watched a local news story here in El Paso about a woman who took her mother (a 80-something Latina) to register to vote in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  In September, they were at a Wal-Mart (a FREAKIN' WAL-MART!!) to do this.  But when the lady went to go and do the early voting she was not on the register.  The cops and the county election commissioner think that it was somebody stealing identities -- hmmm, ya think!?!  So some illegal probably has her information and got into the states and is probably voting somewhere else.  I love what the commissioner said - "Its unfortunate, but until the law is changed that allows outside organizations to register people to vote, there's nothing we can do."  THAT IS THE SOLUTION TO THE VOTER FRAUD PROBLEM!!  ONLY THE COUNTY ELECTION BOARD SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER PEOPLE TO VOTE.  None of this "motor voter" crap.  None of ACORN or LULAC's shennanigans.  THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO ITS JOB AND NOT FARM THIS ONE OUT!!!  ITS TOO @*#$% IMPORTANT!!!
