Obama...the next Reagan? WTF!?!

I just got done reading an article from this complete idiot on MSN's Money page.  I don't normally read the financial advice pages, but the headline caught my eye.  If you haven't seen it yet - check it out - it is "Why Obama is the next Reagan".  I just about had blood shooting out of my eyes!  The idiot in question is a so-called expert named Jon Markman.  The article is found at the following link.

http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/SuperModels/why-obama-is-the-new-reagan.aspx‏

Here's some of what this guy wrote (Warning: Not suitable for Conservatives, Reagan Democrats, and those that know a thing or two about anything):

Investors worldwide have prepared for a new chief executive of the most important country on Earth for months by shedding assets and shivering with dread -- and on Tuesday they got their manThe new boss of the U.S. Treasury, Federal Reserve, armed forces and dollar, the new director of global trade flows, the new captain of the capitalist system, will be a 47-year-old attorney who grew up about as far from the dark center of power as can be imagined -- in sun-baked Honolulu.

Barack Obama now stands in broad daylight, where skeptical investors in Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing and London can assess the real man instead of the political animal running for election.  I think they will find his intelligence, his oratory, his dedication to public service, his ease at gathering smart advisers, his ability to inspire confidence and his tight management of a brilliant political campaign are all the real deal. As a result, despite his incredibly thin résumé, investors will come to believe he is ready to take on this august job.

Did this guy just fall off the turnip wagon?  "Smart advisers"?!?!  Weren't his 2 leading economic advisers the guys that drove Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into the ground?  "The new captain of the capitalist system"?  Are you kidding me?  Mr. "Spread the wealth around"?  The same guy who lamented the fact that the judicial system wasn't able to dole out economic justice during the 50's and 60's civil rights movement?  I'm not that confident - are you?!?

Wait it gets better...
It's a mess, to be sure, and in many ways, the next two months may represent the apex of the world's hopes for Obama's success at setting everything straight. The next half-dozen U.S. economic problems that arise will be attributed to his predecessor, after all.

Oh really?  I thought it just might be the fact that there was a liberal congress that rammed so much crap through that President Bush had no choice despite his vetoes.

But the next dozen after that will be laid at his feet. The way he and his team deal with them will determine our success as investors and citizens over the next four to eight years, and the shape of the world in which my children, now 13 and 16, will emerge as adults.

Obama faces a domestic economy ravaged by falling home prices, rising unemployment and thinning industrial production. He faces a banking system savaged by epic greed. He faces a public that's more cynical than ever about its leaders. And he faces two wars.

Right... these are the possible "world crises" that Joe Biden warned us about.  Ooooh, scary!  Here comes Mr. Markman's sage advice for those of you who might want to invest....

It's almost impossible to say with certainty how Obama will govern as these difficulties arise, for there is nothing in his background that will help us judge. We can only pray that he approaches issues in a holistic way -- not reactively but with a grand plan into which each fresh nuance is thoughtfully fit -- much as he conquered the intricacies of the long presidential race.

I don't know about you... but I'd want a financial guru to give me better advice than to "Hope and Pray" that things will be okay.  I would rather have someone that has a handle on what is going on and give sound advice.

There is a link buried in the column on the right side that allows you to email your comments on this column to the folks at MSN.  If you can't find it, the email address is: investor@microsoft.com  I urge all of you who remember Ronald Reagan, admired him, or even heard about him to email these clowns and tell them that they need to either fire Jon Markman or take off their blinders and see the world through eyes that aren't blinded by devotion to liberal ideologies.

A thought about the polls.....

I had a moment of truly enlightened thinking.  No, there wasn't a voice coming from the heavens when the clouds parted "telling me to vote for Barack".  I was listening to the usual fretting and discussion over the polls that show McCain is behind by so many points, etc.  Then the commentators said that there was the New York Times poll that had McCain down by around 15 points, and the RealClearPolitics poll that takes the averages to come up with it's own numbers.
My thought is this....  If the NY Times and all these other media outlets that do polls are so far in the tank with Obama, what's to stop them from purposely skewing the numbers to make it look like Obama is out of reach of McCain - and thereby influencing the undecided voters (which there seems to be a lot more than usual this year) to vote for Obama because McCain "can't win"?  HMMMMM!?  If you think about it, most news outlets tended to avoid going with the exit polls until the polls had closed to keep from influencing the election.  But what's to stop them from putting out this polling information to influence the voting?  And we're voting already in many parts of the country.  HMMMMMM!?  If you think about it - this makes perfect sense.

Unfair and Unbalanced

It is plain to see just how far the major news outlets are "in the tank" for Obama.  Of all the major news outlets, only Fox News was above the feeding frenzy on Sarah Palin.  I watched in disgust as Wolf Blitzer was interviewing Bill Bennett the night of the announcement that Bristol Palin was pregnant out of wedlock.  Blitzer would not stop pressing Secretary Bennett over this issue despite his insistence that it should be left alone.  Then you have the morons on MSNBC (More Stupid Nonsense Being Concocted) who feel that she should be dropped from the ticket, and even question McCain's decision making ability because of her "so-called baggage".  These clowns wouldn't know journalism if it smacked them in the face!!  Hannity is dead on when he says that journalism died in 2008.
Then the half-hearted call from The One to lay off the families just shows how dirty his hands are as well.  You know that he has his goons going after her and even releasing her social security number just so that she will be humiliated enough to drop out.  This is even lower than the tactics that he pulled to get all of his opposition thrown off the ballot in Illinois so he could get elected to the state senate.  Barack Obama is nothing more than a slimy Chicago Democrat weasel that will stoop to any level of indecent, immoral, and inhumane tactics in order to get an advantage in a campaign.  This is just another reason to add to the long list of reasons why this sleaze-ball should NOT be elected.
The sad thing is that none of this will ever come out.  The media is far too gone to even think about touching The One.  I really hope that when O'Reilly does to talk to him that Mr. Obama will get the proper grilling that he should over this and many other issues.  But then again, he only has an hour to do it in.

If you really had to ask

By the way that the media and Hollywood stars are all falling over themselves to crown Barry Obama as the next greatest thing to come along since sliced bread you'd think that Hillary was a snaggle-toothed old hag.  They aren't that far from the truth, but I digress.
This just is a continuation of the same pattern that has existed with these types for nearly 100 years.  Think about it...how many times you've seen a good actress who's "past her prime" (think Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, etc.) get left out of the latest blockbuster movie because she's just too old?  Just you wait and see, in about 8 years or so Ann Hathaway (the latest 'hottie' on the scene) will be relegated to playing the role of a doting old mother in some bit part.
So it isn't any wonder that Hillary (who's around 60) was cast aside by the so-called illuminati in the media/Hollywood.  Barry Obama comes along with his big smile and platitudes about change (which don't add up to anything new anyway), and kicks Hillary to the curb.
Now, before you start thinking that I am going to start feeling sorry for Hillary - let me make it clear that I still hate her guts.  She is nothing more than a carpetbaggin' power hungry old cow who'd love to climb even higher in the circles of power in DC.
I also think that it is a royal croc of SH*T that she has the gall to force "Mr. Empty-suit" to press supporters to help retire her campaign debt.  If I recall, she and her horn-dog husband have hundreds of millions of dollars in their bank accounts courtesy of Bill's business dealings in Dubai.
Maybe that is her way of needling the Dems and her former Hollywood "friends".

Is it just me or...

Is it just me or is the GOP's campaign being run in low gear this season?  I mean there's nobody out there pounding on all the idiotic and nonsensical things that Obama and his mouthpieces are spewing out there.  Oh sure there's the usual suspects (Hannity, Rush, and even O'Reilly) but the campaign itself needs to have the "bulldog" out in the media jumping on every flip-flop, every mis-spoken fact, and every bad idea put out by Obama and his drones.  Will it take until John McCain picks his running mate?  I hope not.
This election should be a slam-dunk for those of us who stand for conservative values (even if we have to settle for Johnny Mac).  I mean look at this guy Obama.
    1) He's young and inexperienced.
    2) He has shown himself to be the most liberal candidate since McGovern in '72.
    3) He is condescending, arrogant and elitist.  (Watch him speak on TV or in person.  He can't betray his body language as he looks down his nose at the crowd or whoever is interviewing him.)
    4) He can't make up his mind on foreign policy, energy, or even his plans to end the war in Iraq.

I cringe when Fox News gets these political analysts or stategists (read "struggling/unemployed Political Science majors") who think they speak for the candidate or the party.  Just because "Biff" or "Buffy" can make a better argument against "Chad" or "Candy" shouldn't fill the time on Hannity & Colmes.  And have you ever noticed how EVERY female anchor/reporter on Fox is a ditzy blonde or a Greta wannabe?  Just because Greta is intelligent and has a speech impediment (must have had a stroke) doesn't mean that all the other females should be blonde and semi with it.  The only (and I mean ONLY) exceptions to the "dumb blonde" rule on Fox are:
   1) Greta (I'll sue your a**) Von Sustern
   2) Laura (death to liberals!) Ingraham (LOVE her)
   3) Uma (I can't get my own show on here) Pemmaraju
Can anyone else think of any others who don't fit the dumb blonde rule for females?

I don't mean to disparage Fox News.  They are such a thorn in the side of all the remaining news organizations.  No one else will even come close to saying anything nice about the right.
