There are just about as many bitter conservatives out there now that "That One" has been elected as there were when "W" took over in 2000 and again in 2004. I've said it before here but it is definately a leftist PAYBACK for the perceived stolen elections. The deck was stacked, the fix was in...whatever you want to call it - the left (with the liberal minded media in the tank, and the $700 million in campaign money) was not about to let this election get stolen again. So now we conservatives are faced with some tough choices. We can be bitter and hate the new administration just as much as those leftist looneys we heard for the past 8 years (think Code Pink, Daily Kos, and Hollywood). We can take the high road and concede that we were out-matched by a charismatic guy and we just didn't have the right candidate.
OR we can start to work together. There are so many different conservative groups, blogs, commentators, and a few good politicians left out there that all are chattering and working against each other. Some say we should NEVER support Obama as president - even going as far as saying that he is "not my president". Others are somewhat more practical by saying that Obama may be the president, but I don't agree with his policies and will expose them as the Socialist ideals that they are. Whatever your views, we know the Conservative Movement is not dead. I tend to agree with some of the polls that were done last year by Newt Gingrich's organization American Solutions that show that the vast majority of people in America are in favor of many of the Conservative tenets. We like references to God in public forums, and by government. We want to keep our country safe and free from terrorists. We want to curb illegal immigration. We believe in getting fair compensation for the work we do, and not be forced to share it with those who don't. We like the idea of making English the national language and requiring new immigrants to learn it and learn our history/culture.
So what I'm getting at is this... we all believe in many of the same common values. Let us work together and fight to keep our freedoms. Let us work together to stop the socialist/liberal agenda from getting a foothold in this country. Remember what we truly believe in and want for ourselves, our neighbors, our towns, and our country. If you are interested in organizing together drop me an email. I would like to work with anyone who thinks that by being that "thorn in the side" of our leaders will remind them who they work for. I want to see if we can pool our resources and organize an Underground Conservative Movement that will be able to put pressure on the new administration and Congress. I want to grow leaders in this movement that we can get elected. If all I'm doing here is spinning my wheels - then let me know. But I feel that there are enough people out there who think that we can make a difference and get our country back from the socialists that are slowly taking over.
