A thought about the polls.....

I had a moment of truly enlightened thinking.  No, there wasn't a voice coming from the heavens when the clouds parted "telling me to vote for Barack".  I was listening to the usual fretting and discussion over the polls that show McCain is behind by so many points, etc.  Then the commentators said that there was the New York Times poll that had McCain down by around 15 points, and the RealClearPolitics poll that takes the averages to come up with it's own numbers.
My thought is this....  If the NY Times and all these other media outlets that do polls are so far in the tank with Obama, what's to stop them from purposely skewing the numbers to make it look like Obama is out of reach of McCain - and thereby influencing the undecided voters (which there seems to be a lot more than usual this year) to vote for Obama because McCain "can't win"?  HMMMMM!?  If you think about it, most news outlets tended to avoid going with the exit polls until the polls had closed to keep from influencing the election.  But what's to stop them from putting out this polling information to influence the voting?  And we're voting already in many parts of the country.  HMMMMMM!?  If you think about it - this makes perfect sense.

Yet again another victim...

Yet again, Obama's stooges have been mobilized to dig up whatever skeletons, misdeeds, or dirty laundry they could find.  We saw these stooges invade Anchorage, and Wasilla, AK in their satellite news trucks and shiny black Lincoln Navigators loaded with vermin.  These operatives of Obama are none other than the media and so-called "campaign workers".  Again I was appalled at the speed these sub-humans began to devour a target of Obama and his Terminator-like political machine.  Don't tell me that the underworld of Chicago mafia and radical extremists aren't behind this either.  With his ties to these groups, Obama can easily target anyone - even you or me - for instant public humiliation, scrutiny, and scorn.
The stooges descended on small-town Ohio this week to rein in the insubordinate Joe "the plumber" Wurzelbacher.  What scares me most is that it happened to a private citizen who simply asked a question that put the "Dear Leader" in a bad light.   "How dare he challenge the Great and Powerful Obama?!?" - they shouted. "He, he's not even registered to vote!"  "How dare he ask abot taxes when he doesn't do his patriotic duty and pay his!?" "His union says he's not even a plumber!"  "Why, he's even a sodomizing, child-porn loving, satan worshipper!"  "I bet the CIA planted him there just to attack our Beloved Leader!"   The interviews and comments made about Mr. Wurzelbacher in the following days after the incident were shameful and should be a huge opportunity for John McCain to capitalize on the liberal elitist mentality of the Obama-Biden ticket and the Democratic Party.
Even the "Dear Leader" himself put Joe the Plumber up for scorn.  In a speech at one of his rallies, Obama pokes fun at John McCain for sending a plumber to do his work.  The mesmerized crowd laughs on cue, and it makes a great sound bite for NBC's Nightly News.  Dianne "I'm too old for Primetime" Sawyer interviews the poor guy on ABC (Always Be Condescending) for Good Morning America.  Just like Charlie Gibson - Sawyer tries to trip him up by asking him if he is registered to vote.
"Yes, yes I am.", he replies.  "Oh, (SHOCKED) oh, I just wanted to clear that up.", Sawyer comes back.  When she asks him about his views on the Obama tax plan, she spews VERBATIM the Obama talking points in reply.  How much more in the tank can you be without working for MSNBC!?
I feel bad for Joe.  But, you know that there are millions of other "Joes" and "Janes" in this country.  John McCain MUST stand up with them and fight for them.  We are tired of do-nothing politicians that take our money and stuff it in their own pockets and in the pockets of their friends and contributors.  We need you John McCain!  Stand up and fight for us John!  Don't forget about us!

FannieMae and the Liberal Mindset

I got this a few days ago, and some of the comments I've gotten recently (thanks Sue and bryce) have reminded me about this clip.  I can not for the life of me figure out how McCain/Palin have missed this point. The House Republicans and some of the Senate Republicans (including McCain) have been trying for several years to regulate and get a handle on the free-for-all lending practices that were FORCED on FannieMae and FreddieMac.  The only reason why none of this never saw the floor in Congress was that it could never have passed with enough votes due to the then slight Republican majority and the more recent Democratic majority in the House.  I am furious over the fact that not enough was done to stop this madness.

I understand why the Liberals in Congress think the way they do.  They feel the need to help the poor, the folks in need, and such.  But I care about these people too.  We just don't need to go around forcing bad business practices on lenders to help the disadvantaged.
My view is that the poor and needy can better benefit from a "hand up" and not a "hand out".  I think you all can agree with the old saying: "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, feed him for life."  That is what many good and caring Conservatives feel.  Sure, help those in need - by giving them the opportunities to better themselves.  Don't turn people into welfare and entitlement junkies.  Let them have some dignity by getting out of the way to let businesses hire them, encouraging local faith-based groups to help the needy improve themselves, and save our tax dollars for those who truly need help (i.e. the disabled veterans, the family who lost a loved one while serving the country, etc.).
I went to a fantastic prep school in Detroit - University of Detroit Jesuit High School (GO CUBS!).  While I was there, we were encouraged to work with a wonderful group sponsored by the Archdioscese of Detroit (yes, the Catholic church) called FOCUS:Hope.  This organization (which I've visited several times even after I graduated) does help feed the needy, the elderly shut-ins, and the homeless.  But, they also have several fantastic vocational training programs to teach folks a trade (like machinists, and other technical jobs) so they can get good paying jobs. I think programs like FOCUS:Hope should be established everywhere, and supported by all of us with our donations of money, time, and talent.

Anyone Out There?

Wow, has it been nearly a month since I last posted?  A lot has happened in the past 3 weeks and I have been missing out on putting in "my two cents".  Is anyone even reading me anymore?  Give me a shout out if you are getting these!  I want to hear from you.

   1. What in the heck is goin' on with OUR government!?  Bailouts, earmarks for wooden arrows and race car tracks?  WTF!?!?  I have a really good video on YouTube that all of you should watch.  It explains how the monetary system we currently have came to be.  Warning: it is a bit "wonkish", but it explains things pretty simply.  Also, the Ron Paul types would go for some of the proposals at the end - but still a good primer on the economy and how it really works. The link is: Money as Debt - A 45 minute primer on the Economy .

   2. The VP debate.  Sarah did well and did attack BHO and Joe - some.  Joey "Motormouth" Biden spouted off a bunch of incorrect "facts" about the middle east, Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria - but not a single word was mentioned in the media about it.  Johnny Mac better go into Tues. night's debate and kick Mr. Empty Suit's rear-end - or we may be looking at the "United Socialist States of America".  The U.S.S.A. is not a place I want to live in.  Bread lines, Pelosi's politburo, statues of Obama looking down his nose at the commoners - you get the idea.

   3. Sarah Palin is NOT STUPID!!!  The liberal "mainstream" media has been all over this poor lady and has grilled her more than a freakin' bratwurst.  Katie Couric is NOT a journalist!  Charlie Gibson is SEXIST and ELITIST!  Who do these punks think they are!?  They're NOT Walter Freakin' Cronkite that's for sure.  I got word that some Hollywood actress (don't remember her name - and frankly I don't give a rat's @$$) was coming to town.  It was not a big shock to find out that she was campaigning for - you guessed it - Barack Hussein Obama.  The media is a god-awful joke and should stay the hell out of politics.

   4. What the hell is wrong with the Chicago Cubs!?!  Best team in baseball during the season and they get swept!?!  Guess that priest blessing the Cubs' dugout and pouring holy water on it did a whole lot for them.  The only way they will get to the World Series is if they sell their souls to the Devil and tear down Wrigley Field to play in a domed stadium on real Astroturf  (not that new fake grass - the kind of stuff you put on your patio).

WHAT DO YOU THINK!?

"Sarah"-cuda

As many other of my conservative friends would agree - Sarah Palin ROCKS!  I am so glad that John McCain picked her as his running mate.  She is a breath of fresh air and a real threat to the leftist rock-star image that Mr. Empty-Suit had enjoyed for so long.  But.... I fear that if she doesn't get new writers and some coaching on "snappy comebacks to stupid liberal insults" then she might start sounding stale.
Now, now... I love the Governor and I know she'd be a force to be reckoned with in DC, but I've seen her speak several times over the past week and she had not changed her lines once.  I know she's new at this sort of thing but we've got to get someone on the campaign team to help her develop fresh material.

Obama has sent his stooges to go dig up whatever shred of indiscretion possible on Sarah.  I feel that McCain's camp should continue to take the high road and "play the victim" here.  The "Country First" theme is good - but let's add something to it.  Some of my readers who are also Navy vets might recognize the wonderful core values that all Navy sailors know and adhere to: HONOR, COURAGE, COMMITMENT.  These are perfect values that both John McCain and Sarah Palin should put out there in the media.
HONOR - Senator McCain has brought honor to himself and to the country with his service in the Navy and in the Senate.  Governor Palin has also demonstrated honor by refusing to take advantage of the taxpayers of Alaska and America.
COURAGE - A "no-brainer" for Senator McCain.  But he continues to show courage by taking on the established GOP Congressmen/women by scolding them for becoming wasteful.  Gov. Palin was very courageous in taking on the same wasteful politics (even in the GOP).  She's has courage being a mother of a large family with many challenges.
COMMITMENT - Sen. McCain remains commited to not taking outside campaign money from special interests.  And if Sarah Palin isn't commited to her family - then I'm the most liberal guy in America (no, wait - that's Barack Obama).

Sarah Palin needs to keep up her "barracuda" reputation (even if the band Heart won't let her use the song) as being feisty and tough on the issues (taxes, energy, wasteful earmarks) - but get her some new lines PLEASE!  I don't want her to become stale on the issues.

McPalin and the WOW factor

I have to say that the pick of Sarah Palin was BRILLIANT!  I am very pleased with this choice and I know that everybody was talking about it over the weekend.  She is everything that McCain wants in a running mate.  She's pro-life, tough on corrupt pork-barrell earmarks, has EXECUTIVE leadership experience, pro-2nd Amendment, and has the WOW factor.
I was at work the morning she was announced as the VP pick.  A conservative (and a latina) co-worker calls me from home to tell me the news and how excited she is about Gov. Palin.  I couldn't get over her excitement.  The rest of the staff on duty were also buzzing about the pick as well.  Another comment about Gov. Palin I heard was "she's hot!" meaning she's georgeous. Funny - but that isn't the reason I'd use to make up my mind about who to vote for.  My email box nearly exploded with WOW messages over her selection.  Even my Democrat mother was suprised and had a few nice things to say about her - not that she's going to vote for McCain, but I was suprised by her comments.
McCain has certainly put the WOW back in the campaign!!

Gov. Palin has already been criticized by Obama's camp as being just as inexperienced as we are making him out to be. Hmmm, do I sense a bit of realization that Obama is nothing more than an over-ambitious, empty-suited, corrupt Chicago politician?  Let's see...

  • She is in command of real military units as Alaska's govenor.
  • She is the chief executive for Alaska's government.
  • She has made real (and effective) changes in the way the state is run.
  • She has fundamental political viewpoints and hasn't moved from them to fit the audience she's addressing.
  • She isn't corrupted by Chicago's Democratic Machine, Hollywood's deep pockets,  or blinded by ambition when choosing associations (Rev. Wright, Fr. Pflager, Tony Rezko, William Ayers).  AND
  • (As my friend would say) She is "hot"

Losing the Army's vote?

Could John McCain be in danger of losing a huge block of voters?  I say "yes" and here's why:  Have you ever seen him wearing an "ARMY" hat?  Nope!  I mean I'm all for showing your pride in the branch of the military you served in, but c'mon.
Then you look at how the Army troops in Afghanistan and Iraq were all impressed with BHO's ball-handling skills and his 3-point shooting ability.  Then you can't miss the fact that the majority of the military (forget about the Army) is a "minority".  I think this could be something to watch.

Then again, when you realize that I'm just teasing Johnny Mac for "representin'" the Navy (especially since he's an Academy grad - and a wonderful example of a leader).
